2010 Dressage Show Series

Welcome to our 2010 Show Season

Creek Hollow is pleased to offer you some exciting showing options this year; from green rider and cowboy dressage classes to our new schooling dressage show series.  We have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season, as we know you have been, and invite you to participate in our Creek Hollow shows.  We strive to provide a professional relaxed show environment for both horse and rider and our tranquil surroundings and spacious facility, with ample warm-up and parking, have proven ideal for both young horses and seasoned campaigners alike.

We have just completed upgrades to our arena footing, adding new sand and fine wood chips for improved cushion and resiliency.  Our indoor arena provides a cool place for summer warm-ups and the warm-up arena adjacent to the show arena provides convenient direct access to the show ring, eliminating worries about getting to the ring on time.

As we developed our facility over the last year to add a western arena, we didn’t realize that the cows could prove to be a problem for some show horses.  Rest assured, the cows have been moved to live up on the hill with the bison.  My philosophy has always been the more exposure the better – but realize that a show may not be the most ideal first exposure.  Although you are welcome to use my cows or bison to desensitize your horse, be aware that piaffe seems to be the most common response to bison at close range.

We are extremely excited about our new schooling series.  In conjunction with San Diego CDS and DASC, we are developing a strictly schooling dressage show series, which will allow an opportunity to gain show experience at an incredible value.  Our goal is to provide a fun affordable quality no hassle show alternative. 

Currently the details are being worked out, but San Diego CDS and DASC are working on a joint awards program to recognize this schooling series with year-end high point awards.  We believe that this schooling series is the ideal alternative to high priced rated shows, and hope that you will agree.
